Green statement

"We love the world we live in, but we all need to do our bit!"

BigStuff's 'green statement' has been put together to set out standards for us to follow including aims and objectives on how we operate our business.

We love the world we live in! Its far from perfect but we all need to do our bit to make it a nicer place.

We strive to be a sustainable business which works in a socially responsible and environmentally friendly way. We hope to grow organically from year to year but in doing so we recognise that our carbon footprint will increase. So being the caring people we are we'll keep a close eye on things and offset this in various ways to the best of our ability as well as encouraging our customers to do the same.

We go that bit further try to buy products that are recycled or from sustainable sources as often as possible and by doing this we aim to have a much lower impact on the environment.

We also recycle as much as we possibly can - paper, cardboard, wood, plastics, metals, ink/toner cartridges, computer hardware... we even recycle our used stamps for the Blind!

Also, as part of our waste reduction we email all estimates and proofs (unless specified) and keep paper printing to a minimum.

Our main aim to decrease the amount of energy we use by 2012 (5 Years after moving to Eastleigh). Controlling the build of our new premises enabled us to include the latest energy saving materials, fixtures and fittings with ease.

We make sure we turn the lights off. Turn the taps off. Turn off the computers and printers when possible. Wherever possible we use local companies or bulk order to keep transportation to a minimum.

We buy our Electricity, Gas, Water, Broadband, Telecomms in the most environment-friendly way possible by using sustainable or renewable sources. Where possible, we also use companies that are themselves aiming to become carbon neutral.

So you can see we're pulling our finger out and doing our bit. All we ask is that you do the same and help make the world a better place!
Big Thanks
